Hello! I am Jordan Burchette the face behind the Cold Coffee & Cotton Stems blog. I am so thrilled that you stopped by and I pray that you will be encouraged to be the person God created you to be by my words. I started this blog a few months after the Christian newspaper I worked for ceased publication. It was through that season of my life that God showed me my passion for writing and encouraging others. What I thought was a closed-door turned out to be God opening a new door for me and I am so thankful that He knows best. This blog is an encouraging lifestyle blog that lets you take a sneak peek into my daily life that always includes cold coffee and cotton stems (my favorite). I am happily married to my best friend Mason, a mama to Walker & Emmeline, and most importantly, a child of God. I am a stay-at-home mama and a work-at-home mama who is enjoying every moment of her life to the fullest (even on the stressful days). We happily live in Tennessee and are proud Southerners! My idea of a perfect day includes coffee, spending time with my little family, comfy clothes, and writing!
I am so glad you have joined me on this journey of cold coffee, cotton stems, and a whole lot of grace! Blessings to you and yours!
The Story Behind The Name
When I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a full-time writer, I thought long and hard about the name of my blog. I wanted a unique name that would really embody who I am. I decided to go with 'Cold Coffee & Cotton Stems' because I am a mama who is heating up her cold coffee ten times before noon and I adore cotton stems. However, the name has a deeper meaning that I want to share with you, friend. Cotton stems undergo a long process from the time the seeds are planted until the white cotton 'bolls' burst open in the sunlight. This means so much to me as God molds us and takes us through difficult seasons to make something beautiful come to life in us for His glory. My days are filled with cold coffee and cotton stems that remind me that God is continually making me more like him and cold coffee means I have another day to care for my sweet babes. I hope you will draw encouragement from my words as you follow along with. My heart in essence; to encourage you with my words.
