The past few weeks have been such a blur. We welcomed our newest and last sweet babe to our family and haven't stopped to catch our breath since. This new chapter of our lives is super busy and we are all still adjusting to having a new baby around the house, but we are so blessed and happy! Walker James is the complete opposite of his big sister and we have completely tossed all we know out the window because he continually baffles us! When someone tells you that every child is different... BELIEVE them! That is why I have been silent for a few weeks on the blog, but am so excited to be writing again!
I love how God orchestrates seasons and chapters of our lives and gives us just the right amount of strength for each new season. It seems that when we are burnt out and struggling in a chapter of our lives, God sends the next one just in time to give us a fresh start and a new perspective.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."
I know that right before Walker was born, I was tired of waiting on him to make his appearance and I was ready to jump right into life with our two wonderful children. Then Walker was born and I quickly realized that I should have enjoyed the end of the chapter of our lives with only one child more, because now I am even more exhausted! HA!
I have been thinking about this new chapter in our lives and how it seems to be taking forever to get adjusted to the changes. We all have times in our life that we want to rush through and we beg God to please turn the page and make the next chapter easier on us, but I have learned that in those difficult chapters God does a big work in our hearts.
He has a plan for all chapters of our lives, but I find the most growth occurs when we are overwhelmed, stressed, and continually hitting our knees calling out to Him. When we feel like life is crashing down around us we quickly remember the strength that we receive when we call out to God and trust Him. When life is going great, we tend to forget the hard times God has brought us through and we forget to call out to Him as often as we did in the hard chapters. It brings to my mind a quote that states, "May I never forget. On my best day, that I still need God as desperately as I did on my worst day" (Unknown). It is so easy to forget on our perfect, 'sunshine and rainbow' days that we need God just as much as we did when the storms hovered overhead.
Maybe God has recently turned the page in the book of your life and you've entered into a new chapter. You may have welcomed a new baby to your family, lost a loved one, started a new job, decided to beat an addiction, recently put your faith in Christ, or found yourself in the hardest trial you have ever experienced.
Whatever chapter you're in... the good or bad... embrace it, stay strong, and trust that God is going to do a wonderful work in your life through this chapter.
I am praying for you always, friend!
