Psalm 139:14-18 KJV says, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with thee."
Do you have a 'something'? Is there something that ignites a fire in your heart? Are you passionate about your something/talents?
God gave us each a unique set of talents. Maybe you're a gifted speaker, an encouraging person, compassionate about others, or you're a natural-born leader. Whatever your talent(s) may be, they were given to you by God to be used to bring Him glory. There is a 'something' that you're passionate about and excel in even if you don't realize it yet. Maybe God has given you a thriving career where you're surrounded by lost people all day who are watching you, the Christian or maybe you are gifted musically and God is opening doors for you to play your instrument in various settings for His glory. You may be a mama whom God is using to raise future arrows for His glory or a single woman that God has called to do inner city mission work. Wherever you're in life and whatever 'something' God has given you a passion for, embrace it to the fullest.
There was a time in my life when I truly didn't know what my 'something' was or what my talents were and I really struggled with figuring them out. As a kid, I played sports and excelled in my school work and I liked those things, but I wasn't passionate about them. I believe that God gives us certain likes and platforms for a reason and we should use those to bring Him glory whether we're on the ball court or in an office cubicle. Throughout my teen years, I loved serving others through my church and volunteering at various organizations and that season of my life is where I realized I had a passion for people. During each of those seasons, God was molding me and preparing me for the present season I am in and showing me that I have a passion for encouraging people and writing. My whole purpose of this blog is to encourage you, my friend! When God shows you the talents He has uniquely given you, that means its time to use them! It may take time to figure out what your 'something' is and what talents God has given you, but one day it will click and you will realize your passion.
Maybe you're completely in the dark as to what your special talents are or what you're passion about. Can I encourage you to ask God to reveal to you what your 'something' is? You may be surprised when He shows you a talent or a passion you didn't even know you had.
Leo Buscaglia once said, "Your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God."
Find your something, run with it, and always strive to bring glory to God with it!
I would love to hear from you! What is your 'something' that you're passionate about?
