Health and wellness takes up nearly 95% of my social media feed both on Instagram and Facebook. There are so many health groups, exercise ideas, wellness plans to choose from.

Can you say O V E R W H E L M I N G?

I receive so many messages from ladies wanting me to join their health and wellness group. If you think that this blog post is a shot at those people, you clicked on the WRONG blog, friend!

I am in no way, shape or form upset about receiving those messages. I think that if something works for you and you're passionate about it then you should keep doing your thing!

However, I get asked about my health and wellness regime a lot so I thought I would share what I do and why I do it. I am very simple when it comes to my health. I get overwhelmed really easily when it comes to strict workout plans and counting every single calorie. I want to simply eat healthy, keep my body moving and take supplements to help me feel my best. That is all.

Food:

I eat pretty clean. I make sure to eat fruits, veggies, protein and complex carbs each day. The food pyramid works well for me and my family. I lightly keep up with my calories but I don't obsessed over the number especially if I have had a really active day. I easily obsess over numbers and the scale is no different for me. If I wrote down every single calorie I ate in a day I would literally go nuts. That is just how I work so I don't focus on the number. If I am eating healthy balanced meals and saying no to excess sugar and eating ZERO junk food then I am doing great. Tip: If you don't want to eat junk food; don't buy it. If we have junk food in our house then I am going to be tempted. Leave it at the store!

Exercise:

Without adding a workout into my day, I burn anywhere between 400-600 calories by completing my normal tasks and keeping up with my fast-paced littles. I rarely wake-up ready to exercise nor am I pumped up to workout after the kids go to bed. I like to take walks and complete either a Barre or dance workout on YouTube for my extra exercise each day. Do I do this every single day? Nope. I will go a week without working out some weeks but it is something that I am working on. It makes me feel better to workout but finding time and motivation to actually do it is a struggle for me at times.

Vitamins/Supplements:

The vitamins and supplements I take work for me. You may have other things that work better for you. Here is what I take along with links in case anyone wants to try something for themselves!

Evening Primrose Oil-I don't ever forget to take this and here is why. Evening Primrose Oil has a high gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) content. It helps balance hormones, eases PMS symptoms, promotes healthy hair, skin and nails and is all around amazing. You can't take this while pregnant. I started taking this after Walker James was born and it definitely helped my hormones balance out after having him. I love this stuff! I personally take two 500mg capsules each night.

Probiotic-I take a probiotic every evening along with my other vitamins. It has helped my gut health tremendously. I used to have really severe stomach cramps and a slow digestive system. When I started taking the probiotic it helped clear it all up (along with a healthy diet).

Here is what I use

Super B Complex Vitamin-I call this my energy pill. It has all of your B Vitamins along with other wonderful vitamins your body needs. I take one of these a day.

Calm Gummies-I recently fell in love with Calm Gummies after hearing about them on another blog I follow. They are essentially Magnesium in gummy form and naturally help anxiety, migraines and so many other ailments. I take three to four a day depending on my stress-level that day.

That is currently my supplement line-up!

Water-I am an avid water drinker. Water is crucial to your health and wellbeing so I drink half my body weight in ounces each day. I don't drink any soda and rarely have sweet tea. I do drink coffee though and that won't ever change. :)

It is so much easier to get your water intake in if you have a cute cup! I have the cup below in the color purple! You can get one here on Amazon or click the image below!

Sleep-We take sleep very seriously in our house! Thankfully both of our kids are sleeping through the night except for the occasional rough night with AHEM Walker James. The boy still wakes up at night sometimes because he wants his mama. I aim for 8hrs of sleep a night. I am just not one of these people that can sleep for five hours and be happy-go-lucky. Give me all the sleep! I also use Magnesium Lotion from the Magnesium Lotion Shop every night as it makes me sleep like a baby. I put a small amount of the lotion on the kids each night and they sleep so soundly.

Random Thoughts-I eat healthy meals probably 95% of the time. I still like Chick-fil-A, chocolate and pizza. I believe balance is key and everyone is different. I try to put the most emphasis on how healthy I am and how great I feel as opposed to the number on the scale or my waist size. Being Healthy is most important.

If you click on the picture below it will take you to the Magnesium Lotion Shop website to order the lotion! It is worth every penny!

I am always researching ways to better my physical health so keep checking back on this post to see what else I add to this round-up!
